

Annice Kidd Birmingham, 78, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2014. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years Drue Birmingham, Jr., and is survived by her children Brian, Debra Cloud (Steve), Barry (Bev), and seven grandchildren. Annice was born in Portsmouth, Virginia but spent much of her life in Holly Springs, Mississipppi. Because her father was a career Marine she moved several times before the family settled in Holly Springs. On December 7, 1941, Annice’s father was stationed at the Naval Base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii as the Marine Corps Quartermaster. As a result, she watched in person with her mother as the bombing occurred. She attended Union University in Jackson, TN, where she was Freshman Homecoming Queen, chosen Most Beautiful Girl on the campus and represented the school in the Humboldt Strawberry Festival. She attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Annice thoroughly enjoyed gardening, cooking and being a homemaker. For many, many years she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and sang in the choir at First Baptist Church in Olive Branch. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Specialty Hospice and Desoto Healthcare Center for their loving care and compassion during her last days. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch.
