Arthur Gavin Mackey VI was born on February 26, 2004, and left this world April 16, 2025. Gavin was an amazing young man, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Gavin was a hard worker and was successful in everything he did. He never had a problem meeting any and every goal he set and was never afraid of working hard to achieve them. He was a loving brother and always had enough time to joke around with his siblings or to teach them new things. He loved baseball and was a naturally gifted pitcher. Gavin loved his family more than anything and was always the first to offer a helping hand. He was a phenomenal uncle and always took time to talk to and play with his niece and nephews. He also had a special love for his cat, Lewis, who he called Big Dawg. There are no words to adequately describe the void left behind losing such a remarkable young man like Gavin. He was a bright light that will shine forever. His presence will be forever missed by his parents, Brittney Pendley Mackey and Arthur Mackey (Ashley), his grandparents, Arthur and Peggy Mackey, his siblings Taylor Berryman (Dallas), Alana Mackey, Micah Mackey, Trey Clayborne, Hannah Caldwell (Jacob), Laiken Lillo, and Jacob Lillo, his nephews Presley Alexander and Elijah Caldwell, and his niece Ava Caldwell, as well as numerous friends. He was met in Heaven by his brother Arthur Dillon Mackey, his grandmother MaryAnn Thornell, and his great-grandparents Robert and Gwendolyn Wilkinson, Cecil and Virginia Randall, and Arthur and Shirley Mackey. The viewing for Gavin will be Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a celebration of life to follow at 3:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
