Carl Edward Shipley, 76, of Olive Branch, MS went home to with his Lord on Friday, October 7, 2022. He was a Purple Heart recipient from the Vietnam War and stayed in military for 26 months. After his military service, he graduated from Memphis State with a BA degree and worked in accounting for the next 30 years. He had a love for woodworking that would keep him busy upon retirement. Most of all though, he loved his Lord, and it was his desire for all people to hear the gospel and be saved. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for over 30 years. His parents, James and Maudie Lou Shipley; as well as his two brothers, Roy Shipley and Raymond Cecil Shipley, preceded Carl in death. Carl leaves behind his wife of over 46 years, Charlotte Greer Shipley; his daughter, Olivia Shipley Vines (James), and his grandson, Jase Thomas Vines. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at West Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Memphis, TN 38125.
