Daniel “Dan” Mason Collins II, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Baptist DeSoto. He was born on October 27, 1965, in Memphis to Daniel and Irene Collins, but to just about everyone who knew him, he was simply Dan. He had a real love for sprint car racing, and he spent many good years turning wrenches as a mechanic. If it had a motor, Dan could fix it. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Irene Collins, and his father-in-law, Shorty Chambliss. Dan is survived by his wife, Diana Collins; his sister, Pam Trainum (Kenny); his mother-in-law, Renae Chambliss; a sister-in-law, Hannah Gatlin (James), and two brothers-in-law, Danny Chambliss (Lisa), and Josh Chambliss (Tina). He also leaves behind two nieces and two nephews.
