Dewey Moss, 91, resident of Olive Branch, MS, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Dewey was born to Jack and Laura (Taylor) Moss on October 10,1930 in Fayette County, TN. He was loved by all who knew him and treasured by many. Dewey is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Laura (Taylor) Moss; siblings, Lennie Smith, Margaret Bowling, J.W. Moss, Dorothy Lynch, Lucille Austill; and a grandson, Jeremy Ray (Hillary) Moss. Dewey leaves behind his wife of almost 71 years, Frances (Doyle) Moss; a daughter, Shearon Gail (Michael) DeFerraro; sons, Rick (Ellen) Moss and Michael Moss; one brother, Carl Moss; and three grandchildren, Sherry Denise (Gary), Jennifer Lynn (Adam) Leonard, and Jason Ray Dunn. He has seven great-grandchildren, Tyler (Shelby) McGaughey, Nicholos McGaughey, Mathew (Brooke) McGaughey, Justin Leonard, Brianna Gail Dunn, Aidan Dunn, and Ellie Smith. Also one great great- granddaughter, Everleigh McGaughey. Dewey was a member of the East Shelby Church of Christ where he attended regularly with his wife, Frances until his health started to fail. He was retired from Cargill in Memphis, TN and later worked for the Dept. of Southaven and the City of Olive Branch where he finally retired when he was about 76 years old. Brantley Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements which are as follows: visitation to be on Friday, February 04, 2022 at 11:00 am and service to follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home which is located at 6875 Cockrum Street in Olive Branch, MS 38654.
