Dorothy Ruth (Bowers) Tucker, 91, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016. Mrs. Tucker was a 1941 graduate of Aberdeen High School and earned an Associate's Degree from State Tech. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Byhalia and retired from General Electric as Head Bookkeeper in 1986 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Tucker also served as president of the G.E. Retirees Association and was an avid bowler bowling every Wednesday and serving as secretary of her bowling league. She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie Ellen Cleveland and Frank Logan Ballard and two brothers. Mrs. Tucker is survived by her husband, Delbert Tucker, her son, Rev. Charles Smith, four sisters, one brother, three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 from 12pm until the service begins at 2pm, all at Brantley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery.
