Edith Evelyn (Ellis) Long, 95, of Silvercreek Senior Living Community for the last 6 years, while there, she made many friends among the residents and staff, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 10, 2022. She was born on February 11, 1927 to the Late Robert Lee and Evie Bea Ellis in Marks, MS. After leaving her job as a telephone operator she became a stay at home mom. Evelyn was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord. She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Blankenship (Gary) of Olive Branch, Ms, Donna Long of Redford, MI; a grandson, Marshall Thomas (Brandy) of Hernando; three great grandchildren, Layton, Everleigh, and Archer; a sister, Reecy White (Wayne), sister in law, Rose Long and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of donor’s choice. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery, 2545 E.
