Edna Lillian Byars Thompson

Edna Lillian Byars Thompson, 95, of Memphis, TN went to be with the Lord Monday, April 5, 2021. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband of 74 years, Oliver Dow Thompson, Sr.; son, Oliver Dow Thompson, Jr.(Betty); daughter, Sylvia Thompson Webster(Marty); and son, Randy Thompson. She attended MS School of the deaf when she was younger where she met her husband. Mrs. Thompson was an original member of the Baptist deaf congregation of Memphis that began at First Baptist Church and now attends Kirby Woods Baptist Church. At Kirby Woods, she was a member of the deaf choir called, Praising Hands. The family will receive friends at Brantley Funeral Home on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 1-2 pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Emory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the deaf ministry at Kirby Woods Baptist Church.
