Fred Eugene Hudspeth

Fred Eugene "Gene" Hudspeth, was born September 14, 1949 in New Albany, MS and he left this earth to return to his Creator and to his Savior, Jesus Christ on December 21, 2017. He lived most of his life in the Memphis area from 1st grade on, and was living in the Olive Branch, MS area at the time of his death. He leaves behind six children: Amy, Chad, Brett, Corey, Cody, and Chase. He also preceded in death, his father, Lewis Hudspeth and sister, Barbara Norris and a large group of cousins, aunts, uncles, and nephews. He graduated from Messick High School in Memphis in 1967 and studied at Memphis State University and the University of Mississippi. He spent many years working for both Kroger and Nike. He had a big heart and would do just about anything for anyone who needed help if he could, as he was quite good at fixing all sorts of things. His two favorite pastimes were golf and grilling. He was excellent at both. He will be greatly missed by his family and a wide circle of friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 9am until 10am, with the funeral service beginning at 10am, all at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Memphis, TN.
