Helen Ruth Ward

Helen Ruth Pace Ward, 79, of Southaven, passed away March 17, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 with funeral services to begin at 7 p.m., all at the Southaven Church of Christ. The family will also receive friends on Wednesday, March 21, from 12 noon- 2 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona, MS, with graveside services to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Huntsville Church of Christ Cemetery in French Camp, MS. Born on December 21, 1932 in Montgomery County, MS, Mrs. Ward was a faithful member of the Southaven Church of Christ, Macon Road Church of Christ, and Gragg Avenue/ Stage Road Church of Christ, and she worked for many years at Pitney Bowes. She was a devoted wife and mother, and she cherished spending every opportunity with her grandchildren, especially watching them play sports, and also keeping countless other children. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Gene Ward; her daughter, Janet Helen Ward; her parents, John Shelby, Sr. and Lena Pace; and her brother Edmond Pace. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn G. Ward of Southaven; 2 sons, Michael (Betty) Ward of Greenville, SC and Mark (Tammy) Ward of Southaven; 4 grandchildren, Graham, Grayson, Pace, and Braedon; 3 brothers, John Pace, Jr. (Joanne), Ralph Pace (Virginia), and Larry Pace (Gwen); and numerous nieces and nephews.
