Hershel Ray George

Hershel Ray George, 65 of Nesbit, MS, passed away January 7, 2011 at his home. Born in Pike County, AR, Mr. George served from 1962-1966 in the US Army as a specialist in the signal corps and on bases in Germany and in Holland. Mr. George was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, and his impact on our lives will never be forgotten. He worked as a truck driver for Wurzburg Inc. for 28 years where he took great pride in representing his company through his appearance and how he interacted with his customers. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nina George, a professional homemaker and mother to their two sons Michael George (Robyn) of Horn Lake, MS, and Brian George (Connie) of Southaven, MS. He also leaves a sister, Patsy Blakeley (Bob); a brother, Gerald George; and four grandchildren whom he loved very much, Amber Hankins, Hannah George, Brian Delbert George, and Makayla George. Services will be held at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, Wednesday January 12, 2011 with the visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Blocker Cemetery in Olive Branch.
