Larry Eugene Alderson, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his residence in Olive Branch, MS. Larry was born on February 19, 1943, to the Late Calvin Hoyle and Frances Aileen Alderson in Memphis, TN. Larry worked in maintenance at Southern College of Optometry for over 20 years. He enjoyed being a mentor to the students and formed relationships with many. Larry’s favorite pastimes included music, being outdoors, and going fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Hoyle Alderson, and Frances Aileen Duncan. Larry leaves behind his daughter, Athenee Morris (Robert Schalch); lifelong best friend, Phyllis Lewis, and three siblings, Bogie Alderson (Judy), Billy Alderson (Ann), and Deborah Davis. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
