    Boyd was always devoted to you and his family and he always treated everyone with respect.  He could usually diffuse a tense situation with a caring manner, humor, or laughter that was contagious.  He was an honorable man.

It was always a pleasure to work with Boyd. He was a real southern gentleman and was funny without trying. He really loved his family- He was so proud of all of them. Will miss you big guy.

Boyd was a fine christian man and a great american. He was a great friend, a good husband and father. We chased the Mississipi State bulldogs from SEA, DFW to ATL and all over the south. If the bulldogs played Boyd and I were there. To the Collins family,I think they know how much I love Boyd. He will be in my heart forever.

I met Boyd when I became Manager of the Crown Room Club in MEM in 1994. I never met anyone who loved and revered Delta Air Lines and our customers more than Boyd.  He WAS the MEM Crown Room Club.  I remember Mr. Woolman's favorite saying that our employees should provide "Service and Hospitality from the Heart" -- that phrase summed up Boyd's service philosophy perfectly.  I'll never forget when he retired, many of the customers he had served over the years flew in from all over the country to pay tribute to this kind, gentle man.  His heart was as big as his smile.  He was a true Southern gentleman and I am so proud to have worked with him and called him friend. The Boyds of the world are too few and cannot be replaced.  He is probably in Heaven serving right now.  He was one of a kind and I loved him and miss him. My deepest sympathy to Gail and the family.   Duff O'Dell

I remember Boyd as a gentleman who was always smiling, even with 9 irate passengers waiting their turn to be "taken care of." There never was and never will be anyone who could handle any difficult situation better than Boyd.

If I were to picture Boyd when he arrived in heaven, I picture Jesus welcoming him and asking him to move into the antebellum home that looks like a Southern Plantation and make himself at home. Many men may have been as caring and loving as Boyd, but none have reached the plateau that he did as an agent for Delta Airlines. He was my friend and will be missed. But he will also be one of the first I look up at that heavenly plantation. My condolences to the family and may God Bless each of you.

To Gail and the boys: Boyd was and still remains in history, the most polite man I have ever met. I hired on at Delta in Memphis in 1977, and Boyd was one of the persons who took me under his wing. When I went to the ticket counter, he always took time to help me when I got into a ticketing jam. The most enjoyable days were teaming up with Boyd in the Crown Room Clubs. Even though I was in the DFW Crown Room Club, we were in the same region and visited each other regularly. God bless you Gail, Clay, Chad and Jason. Know that God has a special place in heaven for Boyd. He is there with a big smile on his face with Jesus, welcoming all of us into God's house.

   Boyd, or "BC" as he was known was one of my favorite fellow employees at the Memphis airport.  He always had a smile on his face and had great compassion for his co-workers.  He never said an unkind word to anyone.  He will truly be missed.  God comfort you in this time of need.

Gail, and children, our sincere regrets. We loved Boyd all our adult lives. I remember going to visit you in the Americana Apartments way back when. I think even before you were married. We've lost one of the best. He was once described as the last of the True Southern Gentlemen. John and Sally Grace.

What a pleasure it was knowing Boyd!  I worked with Boyd during the 60s-70s at Delta.  Carolyn and I moved to Greenbrook shortly after you guys did and I remember jogging through the neighborhood and stopping to chat with Boyd and Gil Edwards.  They were always involved in some project it seemed.  I remember Boyd as the kind of person who would do anything for his friends.  I know he bailed me out of many predicaments while at the Memphis ticket counter.  My life has been fuller because of him.  May God comfort you in your loss.  We will all miss Boyd.

Our deepest sympathy to you all. We both worked at Delta w/Boyd and what a pleasure he was.......always. I've still run into him the last 5 years @ Kroger, Target, etc. and we'd chat a moment or two. He was always upbeat and never forgot his old Delta friends. He'll be missed. God Bless.

I was sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I worked with Boyd in the Delta Crown Room and he was a great supervisor and a great all around person. It was a joy to know him. Boyd helped to make the work place a little better, just because he was there.

Boyd was one of the first employees I met when moving to Memphis.  I was impressed with the positive attitude of this truly southern gentleman.  This first impression never changed as Boyd and we faced the many challenges during the final years of our working careers.

Boyd was one of the finest men I have ever met, I met him when I first moved to Memphis from St.Louis. He was one of Delta's finest, he and Joe Weller broke me into the Southern Ways when I moved here.I feel so lucky to have seen him a couple of months ago at the Delta Pioneers luncheon. As always he was still asking about my husband and his health, while he was the one that was really suffering.When I just hear his name, I just SMILE. May God comfort all during this time.
