Richard Morris Deen, 80, of Olive Branch, MS went to be with the Lord Jesus on March 6, 2026. Richard was born on November 5, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Charles Morris Deen and Geraldine Powers Deen. Richard graduated from Overton High School and then began to pursue his passion as a fire fighter. He served in the Memphis Fire Department for 33 years before retiring at the rank of captain. Richard never met a stranger. You could find him most mornings having breakfast at one of the local restaurants making new friends. In his free time, he enjoyed camping, working on his cars, and staying busy with many side jobs over the years. These included building custom vans, installing swimming pools, building fences, and running a lawn care business. He also faithfully volunteered his time by cutting the grass at his church. Richard was a believer in Jesus Christ and a faithful member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Dixie Deen; his daughters, Jacquelyn Annice Deen Welch and Denise Deen; his stepchildren, Charlie Cook (Ashley) and B.J. Cook (Whitney); and his grandchildren, Gracie Cook Harlow, Noah Cook, and Garrett Cook. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Sides (Jerry), and his brother, Joe Deen (Jana). The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at Grace Church of the Nazarene (8979 Shelby Dr., Memphis, TN 38125) on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 1-2 pm with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm.
