Shirley Anne Alsup

Shirley Anne Alsup, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Methodist University in Memphis, TN. She was born on December 4, 1938 to Leroy and Martha Whittington in Somerville, TN. Shirley was a dedicated servant of the Lord and was a present member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was a longtime member of Ridgeway Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Outside of church, she found joy in gardening and cooking. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leslie Alsup; her parents, Leroy and Martha Whittington, and two siblings, Wallace Whittington and June Jackson. She leaves behind her two daughters, Pam Harris (Tim) of Springfield, TN and Paige Rollins (Scott) of Olive Branch, MS; her sister, Ramelle Baker, and her sister-in-law, Monta Whittington. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Southwoods in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Shirley’s Memory to Gideons International.
