Shirley Ballard Amirault, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Ingrams Mill, MS. She was born on October 2, 1941 to the Late Charlie and Myrtle Ballard in Manilo, Arkansas. Shirley was a strong woman of faith, a member of Gracewood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, drove the transportation bus, and participated in numerous mission trips. She retired after 27 years with DeSoto County Schools where she taught special needs education. Shirley was kind and generous in helping those in need. She was deeply involved in her community from working the voter polls to helping with concession stands. Shirley loved the seasons and being outdoors. She deeply loved her family and spending time with them. Her favorite pastime was sewing, knitting, and crafting. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, George Amirault; her parents, Charlie and Myrtle Ballard; her daughter, Diana Carter; three sisters, and one grandson, Cory Carter. Shirley leaves behind three children, Sherrill Amirault-Kotowicz, Michelle Amirault, and Michael Amirault (Karen); her sister, Louise Herron. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be made to Gracewood Baptist Church. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Autumn Woods Cemetery, 6240 Davidson Rd. Olive Branch, MS 38654.
