John Michael Kinsey (Mike) March 22, 1942 - March 5, 2011. Born in Chester, England, Mike immigrated to Canada in 1974. He spent his working life with BC Hydro as a heavy duty mechanic in Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey and Williams Lake. Upon retirement, he and Pat became full time RVers and enjoyed wonderful winters in Arizona and summers on Vancouver Island. They eventually found Keremeos to set down some roots but unfortunately soon after, Mike was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, asbestos-related cancer from his work over the years. That was when he lost his spark and his constant humming stopped. Mike passed away at home with his loving wife Pat, his step-son Jamie Downes and his Jack Russells, Samantha and Charlie at his side. He loved his family so much and they loved him. He also leaves behind his sister Marie Barlow (John) as well as wonderful aunts, uncle, nephews, cousins and many dear friends in England. In BC and the US he leaves behind his very loving mother-in-law, Irene Wiley, sisters-in-law Peggy Blake (Arnie) Maureen Glaum (Gerry) as well as loving niece and nephews. Mike enjoyed his life with family and many dear friends. He spent many years playing soccer and has been a great supporter of Manchester City Football Club. We will miss him so much. We will be having a Celebration of Mike's Life on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 at Manning Park. Please e-mail [email protected] for details.
