Bernadine was born and lived in Adams, NE and graduated from Adams High School. In 1943, she married Don Johnson and moved to Omaha, where she worked at Kellogg’s for over 40 years. She retired in 1993 and enjoyed golf, traveling, playing cribbage, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents: Theodore & Anne Kroese; brother, Ted Kroese; husband, Don Johnson, and son, Steve Johnson. Survived by children: Joey & Patty Johnson, and Julie Citta; grandchildren: Julie & Jim Maloney, Scott & Keri Johnson, Lisa Casarez, Lori & Jeremy Beck, Jeremy Johnson, Stephanie & Chris Buchheit, and Melissa & Wes Downer; 14 great-grandchildren: siblings: John & Phyllis Kroese, and Betty Harms; long-time friend: Herb Hansen; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
