Preceded in death by wife Patricia "Patty" Morton. Survived by fiancée Shirley Mason and family; children and families, J. Mark Morton (Kathleen), Laura A. Morton, Steven H. Morton, and James C. Morton (Jeany); and grandchildren, Kristin, Robert, David, Michael, Kenneth, Elisabeth, and Andrew. Chuck was born in Omaha in 1922, schooled at Field Club Elementary, Omaha Central High School, and graduated from Iowa State University, after serving in the U.S. Army Air-Corps in India and China. He was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and supporter of Fontenelle Forrest. He was a proud life-long member of the Democratic Party. A practicing architect for 40 years, Chuck was a master of modern design. Many of his designs are found in Omaha and surrounding communities, including All-Saints Episcopal Church, the Strauss Performing Arts Center on the UN-O campus, and several private homes. He and his wife loved to entertain, and their guests were often treated to smoked 'Frere Charles' chicken and gazpacho. Chuck loved to manicure his yard, spending long hours trimming yew hedges and laying extensive walks and patios of Yankee-Hill brick by hand.
We will CELEBRATE Chuck's happy Life on the 91st anniversary of his birth on March 7, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Please donate any memorials to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, or Planned Parenthood.
