Chuck married the love of his life, Eletha (Ellie) Elayne Ewing, October 17, 1962. Chuck and Ellie had four children, Curt, Andy, Brad, and Lisa.
Chuck made it abundantly clear to everyone that “his Ellie” was the most important person to him on earth and he loved her dearly. Chuck deeply loved all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and was fiercely proud of all of them. He loved cheering each one on and telling anyone who would listen about “his beautiful family.” Chuck also loved his extended family and was a friend to all; he never knew a stranger.
Chuck proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy, during which he especially loved his time aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise traveling the world. After retiring from the Navy, he worked several years for the oil industry with Global Marine Drilling Company in Houston, Texas. This work sent him traveling the world once again. Upon his return home to Omaha from Texas, he worked 22 years as an instructor for OPPD at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant. He retired from OPPD in July of 2009. He spent the majority of his retirement visiting, encouraging and helping family and friends. When he wasn’t helping others he kept himself busy doing various projects around the house. He could fix nearly anything you could imagine.
Chuck loved celebrating Christmas. His absolute best and most favorite Christmas was the Christmas of 1998 when he and his entire family traveled to Hawaii for a “Worshek Family Christmas”. During that Christmas, he accepted and received the best gift of all, the gift of eternal life through Jesus, changing the rest of his life for eternity. This life-changing decision immeasurably impacted the legacy he has left with us.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Margaret Worshek and his brothers Larry and Terry Worshek.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Ellie, his sons Curt (Cari) of Huntsville, AL, Andy (Leigh) of Cheyenne, WY, Brad, (Rhonda) of Elkhorn, NE, daughter Lisa (Dan Holke) of Gretna, NE, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister, Maggie Worshek, his extended family and many friends.
