Douglas was a proud father and grandfather, roles he cherished deeply. Although he was not one to show emotion openly, he expressed his love and support for those around him through his actions. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, and his service to his country was an important part of his life.
Following his military service, Douglas worked as a private attorney before becoming an attorney for the State of Nebraska, from which he later retired.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norm and Norma Kluender. He is survived by his two sons, Jeff Kluender (J’Amy) and David (Amanda) Kluender; his grandchildren, Tristen Mylenbusch, Brady Johnson, Lucas Kluender, Bella Kluender, Chloe Kluender, and Abbie Kluender; and his brother, Randy.
Douglas will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, located at 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska, 68106. The service is scheduled for January 5, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Military Honors will be rendered at 2:00 pm.
