Helen Eloise Savich found peace on March 8, 2024. Born on October 24, 1930 in Rockport, Missouri, she was the daughter of Clyde Lawson and Elsie Tindle. She was preceded in death by her husband Dan (Dimitrie) Savich, her son Douglas, and her grandson, Douglas Jr.
When she was fourteen, Helen and her family moved to Omaha, where she graduated from South High in 1948. She was married to Dan in 1949, enjoying fifty-five years together, until his passing in 2003.
Helen was a hardworking woman throughout her life, working at the Tip-Top Products Company, where she made hair curlers; an ammunition box factory, during the Korean War; the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co; and finally First Tier Bank, where she retired after seventeen years of service in the Estate and Trust Department.
She was an active member of Center Baptist Church, where she held various positions including teaching Sunday School and serving as the Social Chairman. She was the President of the Ladies Aid and Missionary Guild Committees and she also collected and organized the church library, serving as its first librarian.
Helen is survived by her grandchildren, Stacy Haines and Andrew Savich, and by her great-grandchildren Sydney, Walker, and Kimber.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 11 A.M. at Center Baptist Church, located at 2111 S. 41st St., Omaha, NE.
