Jeff entered God’s rest on Monday, August 14, 2023, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his wife Huong and parents Horace and Barbara Lee. Survived by sons Jonathan (Joy), James and Jeremy (Tanya), and grandchildren Kristen, Caleb, Elliot, Logan, Leo and Timothy. He is also survived by his brother Greg (Nancy), cousin Karen (Vic) Manuel and numerous nephews and nieces.

Jeff was born in Geneseo, IL and a graduate of Geneseo High School, Carleton College, where he received a degree in Government and International Relations, and the University of Illinois College of Law.

Following graduation from law school, Jeff then completed the Air Force Officer Training School as a Distinguished Graduate and was assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.

In 1969 Jeff met the woman who was to later become his wife in Monterey, CA, where he was attending Vietnamese language training at the Defense Language Institute, and where she was an instructor. In 1970 Jeff graduated from language training with Honors and two years later Jeff and Huong were married in Kearney, Nebraska following Jeff’s completion of service in Vietnam.

Jeff’s overseas assignments include Phan Rang Air Base Vietnam and Seoul, Korea. He retired from the Air Force in 1993 with the rank of Colonel.

Jeff was an avid guitar, piano and trumpet player and enjoyed golfing and vacations to Montana. Most of all Jeff treasured time spent with his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation for Jeffrey will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. A funeral service will occur Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Jeffrey will be laid to rest in Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
