Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Laura Groves; and siblings, Wyatt Groves, Wilber Groves, and Jean Hansen.
Those left to cherish Laureen’s memory include her husband, Verble Callahan; children, Allen (Kay) Callahan and Sandra (Dennis) Thomas; grandchildren, Nash Callahan and Dakota Thomas; step-grandchildren, Steven (Taylor), Carrie (Keith), Jessica (Wes), Jenna, and Jamie; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Louie (Joann) Groves and Lucille Odvody; and many other loving friends and family.
Laureen was a longtime employee of the Mahoney State Park where she enjoyed many years of serving the park and its members. She was a member of and served on the ladies aid of Immanuel Lutheran Church for many years.
A visitation for Laureen will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center St, Omaha, Nebraska 68106.
