Affectionately known as Peg or Peggy, she spent the first several years of her life growing up in Omaha’s Little Italy. A place she returned to several times throughout her life and an area that held a special place in her heart.
On August 23, 2008, Peg married Ron Spence and they made their home in Aurora, Nebraska.
To say that her family and friends will miss her greatly is an understatement. Peg never met a stranger and made lifelong friends wherever she went. Her smile, sass, and kindness drew you in whether she was your bartender, interior designer, or mother to your good friend. She liked to travel, love to cook, enjoyed time with family and friends, and was always up for an adventure.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron Spence and father Henry Carpenter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Mary Jane Carpenter of Hutchison, KS; son Jeffrey Krotz of Lincoln, daughter Erin (Jeffrey) Krotz Lee of Omaha, four stepsons, Travis (Tara) Spence of Kearney, Tyler (Lindy) Spence of Lincoln and Chris (Sarah) Spence of Lincoln; Samuel (Jacqueline) Pickrel of Clarks; 7 grandchildren; brothers, David Copeland of Tampa, FL; Steve (Tina) Carpenter of Hutchinson, KS; Scott Carpenter of Wichita, KS; and many cousins, family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 21st at 11am at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. Followed by a reception at the Sons of Italy 1238 S 10th St, Omaha, NE 68108.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.westlawnhillcrest.com for the Spence family.
