Mary Jo Kretschmer

Preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jeanette (Jeannie) Tolles; and her brother, Gerald (Jerry) Barrett.

Survived by her husband, Wolfgang Kretschmer (Bethany Lutheran Nursing Home); her daughter, Tricia (Aaron) Thornton; her loving and devoted son, Andy Pruitt; sisters, Susan Rupp of Omaha, NE, Sandra Brittain of Omaha, NE, Beverly Barrett of Council Bluffs, IA, and Sharron (Tom) Price of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Shawn Smith Jr., Samantha Smith, and Alyssa Mills; great grandchild, Skyla Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mary will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Westlawn-Hillcrest Memorial Park, 5701 Center Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68106. (Please join the procession at the cemetery entrance)

Following the graveside service will be a memorial gathering from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Main Street Tavern, 519 Main Street, Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Mary Jo worked for Immanuel Hospital as a Physical Therapist Technician for 35 years. She loved playing keno, bingo, going to the casino, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed decorating her home and doing small fix up projects. She loved her dog Toto (punkie-poo). She was known to always do whatever she could to help others in need. She had many loved ones who had special names for her (Mommy Jo, Jo, aunt Jo-Jo). She will be missed by all who knew her loving spirit and love of family.
