Monika L. Vinovskis, born in Riga, Latvia. Emigrated to the United States of America after WWII. Married to Valdemars Vinovskis (deceased). Survived by her two children; daughter and son-in-law, Laima Kuring and Norman Kuring of Bowie, MD; and son, Waldemar (Wally) Vinovskis, wife Cyndi (nee Ristvedt) and 4 grandchildren: Carissa, Micah, Noel Darius and Oliver Vinovskis, all of Macungie, PA. Monika worked as a hospital pharmacist, beginning at what was then known as the Immanuel Deaconess Institute in Omaha which later became Immanuel Hospital and Alegent Health Care, retiring after 45 years of service. Active in her retirement, Monika also served for a time as a volunteer on the hospital's auxilliary. She was an active member the Latvian Lutheran Church in Omaha, and also most recently of Pacific Hills Lutheran Church. She was an avid lover of classical music and supporter of the arts including the Omaha Symphony, the Symphony Guild, Opera Omaha and KVNO Radio. In addition to being a devoted mother to her children and a doting grandmother, throughout her life, Monika visited and cared for many of the elderly in the Latvian community in Omaha. She gave selflessly of her time and resources to her friends, her family and her community.
