Our dad, grandfather, great grandfather, was a steady hand, quiet love and unwavering support that built the foundation of our family.
Alonzo (Roy) and Edith Stolp's youngest of their 7 was Norris.
Norris was born and lived in Omaha most of his life. Norris attended Tech High School and joined the U.S. Air Force shortly after. Dad was in the airpolice in the USAF stationed in England until his father passed away then dad was relocated to the base in Lincoln Ne, to be closer to his mother and family. Near the end of his 4 years of service he met the love of his life, our mom Evelyn. She kept her promise to her father and married Norris 8 days after graduating from Benson High School. They were married on June 16, 1955. Right before their 1st wedding anniversary number one arrived, a boy. Nineteen months later number two arrived, a girl.
On April 20, 1959, Norris became an Omaha police officer. A career that he served for 31 years and 9 days, which by coincidence was his badge #319. Dad loved being a police officer and worked as a patrolman and as detective. Dad had many different kinds of stories from his long career on the OPD. Number 3 (a girl), Number 4 (a girl) and number 5 (a boy) all came along while he was serving on the Omaha police department.
Dad loved to hunt deer and pheasants, I would say these were his hobbies. Dad didn't have a lot of time to himself, he worked two jobs so our mother could stay at home with us 5 kids, that was very important to him and our mom.
We'll honor, remember and love you all our days, You were more than a dad, you were a guide, protector and friend.
Dad's faith in his savior Jesus and his Heavenly Father lead more than just his immediate family to Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents and all six brothers and sisters. His Wife Evelyn B. Stolp, his son Norris W. Stolp Jr, and daughter Cynthia R Sexton.
Survived by daughters Kimberly A. Wright (Fred), Stephanie L. Nyp (Ed) and son Brian A. Stolp (Becki). Grandchildren Rebeca Sexton, David Sexton, Lindsey Sexton, Laura Sexton, Clayton Nyp (Emily), Caitlin Wright, Alexandra Harrell (Antonio), Elizabeth Nyp and Allison Perry (Colin). Great grandchildren Benjamin Sexton, Samuel Nyp, Franklin Nyp, Addison Perry and Charlie Perry. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
He wasn't just an amazing dad, he was an incredible human. His love, wisdom and strength continue to guide us. Our memories of him are a source of comfort and inspiration. Even though he is gone his legacy lives on in us, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We were all blessed to have him in our lives, we love you dad!
