

Sandra Carole O’Neil (nee Wehrli), lovingly known as Sandy, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 81. Sandy was born on April 21, 1944 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Sam and Ruby Wehrli. She grew up in a loving home and carried
the values instilled by her parents throughout her life. Sandy pursued higher education with dedication and earned both her bachelors and masters degrees from the University
of Nebraska Omaha. Throughout her working career Sandy demonstrated versatility, a strong work ethic, and adaptability in her various roles. She worked for Lozier Corporation
in Omaha, Century 21 Realty in Council Bluffs, and Rehab Visions in Omaha before retiring. Sandy shared a deep bond with her late husband, Don O’Neil, cherishing their time together
until his passing. She was also predeceased by her beloved parents, Sam and Ruby Wehrli. Sandy is survived by her sister Janis (Jim) Laabs of Mesa, Arizona, and niece Heather Laabs
of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania who will forever cherish the memories of their time together. A woman of many talents and interests, Sandy enjoyed cooking, quilting intricate designs that
showcased her creativity, watching movies of various different genres, traveling extensively, and was known for being an avid reader. Her warmth and caring nature left a mark on all those fortunate enough to know her. In honor of Sandy’s memory donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers. May Sandy’s memory be a source of comfort to those who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be held on March 7, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home, 5701 Center Street, Omaha Nebraska. Family visitation from 11:00 AM until Noon.
