Thelma M. Sutcliffe passed away on January 17, 2022. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in America, age 115. She was born October 1, 1906, to the late August and Maude(Adams) Liesche. Her mother died when Thelma was a little child. She was married to the late William Sutcliffe. In addition to her husband and parents preceding her in death were a brother Eldred Liesche (Margret) a sister, Marie Kelso, a niece Jean Lavonne Sullivan (Vernon), and two nephews, Clarence (Buster) Sorenson and Richard Sorenson. Surviving is her nephew R. Warren Sorenson, grand nephew Ronald Sorenson and grand-niece Leanne Valencia, and a special friend Luella Mason who assisted Thelma in countless ways during the last few years of her life.
Thelma was a kind generous person which was demonstrated by her many contributions to many community charities. She will be greatly missed by her family and a host of friends.
