Virginia Ailene Duff was born November 10, 1919 to Virgil and Georgia Lee and had no brothers or sisters. Her father traveled to cities around Nebraska for his work, so Virginia moved around a lot during her childhood, but Ulysses was her favorite home in her growing up years. She finished 8th grade, and then was in a business course at Tech High until she was 16. Virginia worked at several jobs in Omaha, and then she realized she needed some direction in her life, a purpose, and so she walked from near downtown to Central Presbyterian Church at 55th and Leavenworth, and joined the church. She had a good voice and liked to sing, so she joined the choir, and a handsome man named George Duff, recently back from being stationed in Europe during WW II, took an interest in her. They were married in 1948. Georgann was born in 1949, and then Gerry and Gary in 1954. George died in 1976, so she lived on her own as a widow for over 36 years until she moved in with her son, Gary, the past 3 years. She is survived by her 3 children - Georgann (Leon) Komar in Omaha, NE who have 2 children and 3 grandchildren; Gerry Duff (Debbie) in Hillsboro Ohio, who have 4 children and 6 grandchildren; Gary Duff (Sheri) in Omaha, NE, who have 7 children and 1 grandchild. MEMORIAL SERVICE Monday, May 18, 2015 10:00 am at Westlawn Hillcrest Funeral Home.
