Born in Sioux City, IA and passed away in Omaha. Attended East High School with his wife of 61 years, Jody Holdcroft. Survived by wife, Jody; children, Richard T. Holdcroft (Mary Jo), Omaha, Teresa Reese (Mike), Alliance, NE, William James Holdcroft, JR (Jeanie), Omaha; brother, Tom Holdcroft, Vancouver, WA; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He served 25 years in the Naval Submarine Force, stationed in San Diego, Chincoteague, VA, Guam, Key West, FL and Omaha. Bill was a member of the Loveland Kiwanis Club and served as its treasurer for several years. He and his wife, Jody also volunteered in the welcome booth at the Epply Airport. He is a member of the Millard American Legion. Bill Loved to fish in Bemidji, MN, and enjoyed hunting Pheasants in Iowa. He loved bowling at the West Lanes Bowling Alley and golfing at the Elmwood golf League as well as many other courses in Omaha. He had three holes-in-one. He especially enjoyed golfing with his sons and grandsons. Bill was president of the Little League Baseball Association in San Diego, CA. and coached his sons' teams. Bill was active at Rockbrook United Methodist Church. He served as chairman of the trustees, was Sunday school superintendent, ushered, managed the church golf league and was on the Boy Scout Troop #409 Committee. Bill especially enjoyed his family times and his East High class reunions in Sioux City.
VISITATION Tuesday from 6-8pm at Crosby Colonial Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE Wednesday, 10:30am, Rockbrook United Methodist Church, 9855 W. Center Rd, with Military Honors by Millard American Legion Post #374 and VFW Post #8334. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City IA. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be sent to Rockbrook United Methodist Church, 9855 W. Center Rd., Omaha, NE 68124.
