He was born on October 6, 1969 in Oneonta, the son of Norman and Constance (Simmons) Quackenbush. He resided in Oneonta with his wife, Christine, and his mother.
He was an avid guitar player and had played in many bands in and around Oneonta starting in his teenage years. His present bands were “Twisted Years” and “Bar Code”.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Christine; his mother, Connie; two half-sisters, Sherry and Norma; two half brothers, Stephen and Danny; his uncles, Ronnie Simmons and his wife, Jackie, Jack Quackenbush and his wife, Carol, and Gary Quackenbush and his wife, Maria, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son, Holden; his father, Norman, and his brother, Bill Oakley.
A memorial service will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Sixth Ward Booster Club, 22 West Broadway, Oneonta, at which time his friends and family will be in attendance.
