
He was born August 26, 1941 in Woodside, Queens the son of William and Kathleen (Kennedy) McKinley.
David proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
On November 8, 1964, David married Louise Pasquorella in Woodside. They just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary.
After moving to the area, David owned and operated Northern Slings & Supply in Wells Bridge for many years until his retirement.
He loved being at home working on his house and in his garden. He also loved his animals and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his loving wife, Louise McKinley of Oneonta; son, John McKinley and Darcy Aldous of Ithaca; one granddaughter, Elizabeth McKinley; sister, Betty Schalk of Middletown; brother, Edward and Pattie McKinley, of Otego; brother-in-law, Frank and Karen Pasquorella of Brooklyn; a good friend, Betty Lynch of Oneonta; as well as many nieces and a nephew. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Kathleen McKinley, a brother, Bill McKinley and his beloved dog, “Casey”.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Susquehanna SPCA, 4845 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, New York 13326 in loving memory of David McKinley.
