

She was born December 2, 1928 on a farm near Bainbridge, NY the daughter of Ford and Edith (Nimocks) Van Buren.
Edith went to several schools, Franklin Central – 1-3rd grades, Coe Hill Country School, 4-6th grades, Milford Central School 7-9th grades, Hartwick High School 10-12th grades, graduating Valedictorian of her class.
Edith married Warren C. Jester on July 1, 1950 at the Methodist Parsonage in Otego, NY. Warren predeceased her on June 30, 1998. They had six children, Carol Marie, Kaye Ann, Kim Warren, Timothy Van, Kerry Steven and Corinne Jo; two sons-in-law, Mario Roberto Arevalo and John Andrew Davidson; one daughter-in-law, Kristi Gary Jester; 21 grandchildren, Benjamin Aaron, Christopher Paul, Daniel Lee Arevalo; Kraig Charles and Kurt Matthew Butcher, Robert Earl, Emily Kaye, Bryce Warren Freling; Aaron Michael, Joshua Ryan and Krista Rae Jester; Toni Louise, Matthew Royce, Jessica Renee, Colton Eli and Seth Aiden Jester, Amanda Jo Busselman, Emily Michelle Langston and Joshua Dwayne Busselman; Connor Joel and Olivia Meredith Davidson; also 21 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Edith worked at Chester Winslow’s Law Office in Hartwick; New York Bell Telephone in Oneonta, Wilber National Bank in Oneonta and was the District Treasurer at Andrew S. Draper Central School.
She was a member of the Oneonta Business Woman’s Club; the Truth Seekers of Schenevus; the Schenevus Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women; and sang in the choir at said church. She loved to Square & Round Dance, go bowling, play cards, play miniature golf, crossword puzzles and spend time with her friends. Edith was an avid Yankees fan.
Edith’s wishes are to be cremated and be buried beside her husband, Warren and son, Kim at the Schenevus Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
