George was born in New York City, NY and grew up with brothers Charles and Edward, both now at his side. As a teen, and on the rough streets of NY, he met Patricia (Patsy) and fell in love. They were married in 1957, started their family, and had celebrated 56 years of marriage when Patsy left this world in 2014. His love for her was eternal and he mourned for her every day until his passing.
George was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was distinguished as a sharp shooter.
George’s love of family and friends was his biggest asset. He had a huge heart and cared for family members all his life by opening his home to those needing refuge, and caring for family members through illness. Those who knew him well knew that George always said what was on his mind! You always knew where he stood on a topic. He was young at heart, and lived a full and happy life.
George is survived by his children, Debra Sola and George J. Rodenas, Dearest sisters-in-law Peggy Fleming, Linda Rodenas and Carol Rodenas; much adored grandchildren Mickey Sola, James Sola, Abby Rodenas and Joey Rodenas; as well as abounding nieces & nephews.
No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled in a few months once everyone is safe to travel again.
Please send memorial donations to The American Heart Association.
