He was born on July 15, 1936 in Brooklyn, the son of Charles and Sophie Lomangino.
Leo was known for his constant generosity towards family, friends and community. He hosted many parties and events on his farm, Buttermilk Farms, in Davenport, NY.
He is survived by a son, Robert Lomangino of New Fairfield, CT; a son, Leo F. Lomangino of Mooresville, NC; a daughter, Rose Corey of W. Islip, NY; 12 grandchildren, Anthony Lomangino, Elysa Lomangino, Maria Lomangino, Rob Lomangino, Steven Lomangino, Brian Lomangino, Christopher Lomangino, Dianna Lomangino, Jaclyn Sanders, Jennifer Baca, Lisa Newton, and Amanda Long; 4 great grandchildren, Maddie Lomangino, Mason Sanders, Vienna Baca, Natalie Newton, and Ava Newton; brothers, Frank Lomangino, and Anthony Lomangino; a sister, Frances Gusmano, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 2 – 7 pm at the Lester R Grummons Funeral Home, 14 Grand Street, Oneonta. The family will be in attendance from 5 - 7 pm.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27 at 10 am at St Mary’s Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta, with Rev. David Mickiewicz officiating.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Emmons.
