Marge K. Thomas

She was born April 8, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Michael and Margareta (Karius) Lohrmann.

On December 20, 1952, Marge married Richard Thomas in Queens, NY. Together they shared 61 years of marriage and two beautiful children.

Marge worked for Double Day Books in Garden City, Long Island in the Royalty Department for many years until her retirement.

For many years, Marge and Richard would come to their property in Oneonta and finally settled here after their retirement. They enjoyed the peace and tranquility that the land offered.

She also enjoyed reading books but what Marge loved the most was her family especially her grandsons. She was always talking about them and was so proud.

Marge was a former member of the Eastern Star in Long Island and while in Oneonta she attended the Lutheran Church of the Atonement.

Marge is survived by her husband, Richard Thomas of Oneonta; daughter, Linda Hendricks of Georgia; son, Richard and Amy Thomas of Clifton Park; three grandsons, Erik Hendricks and Ryan Christopher and Steven Michael Thomas. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Lohrmann.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00AM in the Bookhout Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oneonta with the Reverend Paul Messner Pastor of the Atonement Luther Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Oneonta Plains Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be held at 10:45AM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
