

He grew up in Metuchen, New Jersey. After graduation he served in the US Marine Corp. After being honorably discharged he attended Delhi College.
Michael began his career in Cable T.V. in the mid 70’s. He built systems across the United States. He worked for New Channels/Time Warner.
He built his family’s first home in Columbus, NY. The first wood foundation in the upstate region.
Michael took a position with the Oneonta branch of New Channels and moved his family to West Oneonta in the early 80’s where they resided for 34 years.
He contracted for Scientific Atlanta as a program manager bundling services with other utility companies. After he left the cable business he worked for Forno Enterprise until retirement. He then worked for the Oneonta Country Club for nine seasons.
Michael could be found trout fishing the many streams across Upstate New York and beyond with Rita by his side. He loved saltwater fishing in Rhode Island where he made many friends. He loved to work in his garden and grew wonderful tomatoes which he would share with his neighbors.
Michael is survived by his wife Rita of 43 years, soulmates for 50 years; his children, Jeffrey Scott (Melinda), Jason and Megan; siblings, Patsy, Karen, Richard, Debbi, Aleen and Thomas; plus many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Max Andrews and Daisy Distler (Steve), In-laws, Minnie McLean, Laura, Elizabeth and Mary.
There will be a celebration of Life in the fall with his family and a great many friends and loved ones.
