Suzanne "Susie" Fisher, 57, a wonderful wife, devoted mother and beloved friend to all, was called to be with the Lord on Jan. 10, 2020, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her cherished family and friends were by her side.
The world has lost a beautiful, bright, shining light that will live on in the hearts of everyone who crossed her path.
Susie was born in the Dominican Republic in 1962, the only daughter of Martina Trinidad.
At a very young age she moved to Walton with her mother and stepfather, Herbert Buerger.
Susie attended Walton Central School where she graduated in 1981.
After high school, under the guidance of Elizabeth Mclean, Susie became an exceptional hairstylist.
On Sept. 9, 1995, in Walton, Susie married Frank Fisher and in 1999 they moved their young family to Oneonta and opened her new business, Suzanne's Unisex Salon. She became one of the best hair stylists in the area, winning numerous awards, including The Daily Star's Best of the Best Hairstylist several times, including this year. It was an experience getting your hair done at Suzanne's.
Since opening her business, Susie also raised two beautiful and talented daughters, Maraya and Jada. She loved them deeply and with all her being.
Throughout her years in Walton and Oneonta, Suzanne touched so many lives with her overwhelming joy for life, beautiful smile and contagious laugh that no one will ever forget. Suzanne made everyone look and, more importantly, feel beautiful. That was Susie's gift to the world and she will be greatly missed.
Surviving Suzanne are her loving husband, Frank; daughters, Maraya and Jada; mother, Martina Trinidad; her special persons, Carol and Tony Antonelli, all her cherished YA-YA sisters; and countless friends, relatives and business associates, all of whom will forever cherish their special bond with this incredible, loving, funny and courageous woman.
At Susie's request, there will be no calling hours or service. Instead, there will be a celebration of her wonderful life for all those whose life was touched by this incredible soul. It will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 25, at Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center.
Always and Forever! Love you to the moon and back!
