

Antonio (Tony) Frank Meras passed peacefully at his home in Ontario, California and he went to be with his Lord on July 6. 2018. He was born to Jose and Macaria Meras in Claremont, California on June 13, 1938. Tony was 80 years young.
Tony served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division in 1957. He was proud to be an American. The former owner of Meras Silver Company, Tony loved fishing and going to baseball games. As a youth, Tony caddied for Joe DiMaggio at Red Hill Country Club. He was active in politics, was a campaign manager for State Senator Ruben Ayala, and through it all, never lost his good sense of humor. He assisted those in need and helped people solve their concerns with immigration. Tony genuinely cared for the poor and he was a great friend to many.
He is survived by his children, Bonita Everage (Donald), Claudette Meras, Linda Meras, Amanda Hukkanen, Fred E. Escobedo, and Anthony Hernandez. Love of his brother and sisters , Lupe Meras Gonzales (Jack), Jose (Joe) Meras (Dolores) and Mary (Marti) Rodriguez Gonzales(Jaime) . A loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. his grandchildren, Ericka Rojas, Scotty the Kid, Kaya Hukkanen, Jake Hukkanen, Marina Carter, Monique Knight, Keith Everage, Heather, William, and Kayla Ramirez, and Lily McArthur-Meras; and his great-grandchildren, Isabella Carter, Ava Carter, Kalum Knight, Daniel Jagielski, and Greyson Johnson.
Tony is preceded in death by his father, Jose Meras and his mother, Macaria Meras Solis.
A visitation for Tony will be at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue, Ontario, California on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be at the same venue on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM and will be followed with interment at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California at 12:30 PM.
