Surrounded by family, Charlotte Kay Marquardt passed away on June 25, 2018 after a short illness. Kay was born in Clovis, New Mexico on February 16, 1945 and her family moved to Ontario, California shortly after. She graduated from Chaffey High School in 1962 and married the love of her life, Stanley Marquardt, on August 4th of that year. As lifelong residents of California, Stan & Kay have lived in Ontario, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and for the past 32 years, Redlands. Kay retired in 2010 and enjoyed a successful career as an Administrative Secretary, but her greatest source of joy was her family. She was a talented artist, avid reader and fan of Stephen King novels, and most importantly, a self-proclaimed ‘Crazy Grandma’. She is preceded in death by her parents Dick & Imodene Alexander of Ontario, her brother Wayne Alexander and brother-in-law Cary Reeder. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Stanley Marquardt, her sister Pat Reeder, sons Scott & Marcus and their wives Julie & Kim, 5 grandsons, Jonathan, Alex, Weston, Kyle and Jake, and great-grandson, Elliot. Services will be held at Draper Mortuary in Ontario, California on July 16th at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that loved ones consider donating in Kay’s name to either Redlands Family Services or the Redlands Community Hospital Foundation.
