

David Alan Parker, 83, of Upland, California, passed away on January 13, 2016 at Kaiser Hospital in Ontario. He was born to Jesse Henry Parker and Mary Borden Parker in Seattle, Washington on November 15, 1932. Following his service in the US Army, David became a teacher and, for more than 30 years, shaped the minds of his students to become a new generation of educated citizens. He was a member of the California Teachers Association and the National Educators Association. David's hobbies were tap dancing (he was a member of the "Young at Heart Tappers") and traveling with the Upland Travelers.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Leslie Walters; and a son Craig. David has five grandchildren, Joshua Parker (and his wife, Amber), Jessica Miller (and her husband, Tyler), Julie Rogers, Miguel Parker, and Darian Parker. Additionally, he was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Landen Rogers, Makenna Miller, Gabriel Parker, and Camden Parker.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Avenue in Ontario, California. Burial will be private at Riverside National Cemetery,
