Diane Ruth Hatch, age 81, passed away on October 24, 2024, in Upland, CA. Born on February 25, 1943, Diane's life was marked by her profound love and dedication to her family and friends. She was the embodiment of love, described as a living example of the virtues outlined in 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
A proud alumna of Chaffey High School, class of 1960, and having furthered her education at USC and San Diego State University, Diane embraced all aspects of her school years, including football games, sorority events, and seeing her high school sweetheart, Russell Alan Hatch, during his Navy shoreleaves. She and Russ married in 1964; a marriage that lasted 58 years, until Russ’ passing in 2022.
Diane's early career was at General Telephone, but she found her true calling as a devoted homemaker after adopting her first child, Tim. Diane and Russ welcomed four children into their family, creating an adventurous and lively home. Her commitment to family was evident as she ensured each of her children felt uniquely treasured, a testament to her loving nature. She later contributed to the family's insurance agency and volunteered at Pomona Valley Hospital.
Diane's adventurous spirit shone through in her travels with Russ, visiting countries such as Costa Rica, Australia, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong, the Baltic Sea (Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Finland), and several other destinations. The family took many trips to Lake Powell, Lake Sabrina, Sunset Beach, and countless adventures in Loreto, Mexico. She enjoyed watersports such as snorkeling, fishing with Russ, and relaxing on the beach. An avid animal lover, Diane cherished her pets, creating a warm, welcoming home for all her many furry and shelled friends that she treated like royalty. Diane also enjoyed baking sweets, from cookies and cakes to pies, celebrating every family milestone with a special treat for the person of honor.
Diane is survived by her sister, Bette Joan Runner; son, Timothy Burton Hatch; daughter, Jennifer Margaret Bressler; grandsons, Donovan Bailey Hatch and Braeden Russell Hatch; and granddaughters, Fianna Reagan Bressler and Julia Renee Bressler. Diane was also preceded in death by her sons, Gregory Stewart Hatch and Eric John Hatch and granddaughter, Margaret Jane Bressler.
