Elda was born in 1928, in Northern Italy, to Luigi and Angela. Her father was wounded during WWI and her mother, Angela, cared for their growing family including a son, Oswaldo, and daughters, Gina and Elda. She saw her share of hard times- extreme poverty as well as the Nazi German occupation of her home town.
She met and married her husband, Attilio, and as a young bride, moved from Italy to Canada in 1950. They settled in Toronto and added two boys to their family, Albert and Henry. Elda went to school to learn English while working full time and caring for her family.
The family emigrated to California in 1966. First, they built a house next door to Attilio's sister in Riverside. Then, in 1971, they moved into a new home in Cucamonga. Elda always said she wouldn't move again and she kept that promise!
She is preceded in death by her husband, Attilio; her parents, Luigi and Angela; her brother, Oswaldo; her sister, Gina; and her granddaughter, Kati.
