Esteban Garcia

Esteban Solis Garcia (Steve) was born on Aug 2, 1922 in San Diego, TX. . He was one of 5 children and the last survivor amongst his siblings. He married Gilda Garcia on November 8, 1946 and remained devoted to her until his dying day. He had 8 children, Alfonso (Judy), Virginia Malone, Oscar (Rita), George, Patricia Bransteitter (Roger), Susie Shaw (Joseph), Grace Fernandez (Javier), and Tony (Laura). Additionally, he had 25 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. He created a dynasty, all of whom loved him dearly. Steve served honorably in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Prebble in the Pacific theater. He worked throughout his life mainly as a sheet metal worker and retired from the US Postal Service in 1984. Steve moved his family to California in 1963 far away from all relatives and everything that was familiar to him. This event brought him and Gilda closer to each other and created a sense of strong unity among his children who to this day remain loyal and close to each other despite the distance of their residences. A few words to describe Steve would be independent, fiery, loyal and family-oriented. Steve left on September 23, 2013 to be with our everlasting Lord. He will be missed by many and remembered forever in the hearts of all who knew him. And may his and Gilda's legacy live forever.
