Jamel "Deon" Love

Jamel was born June 21, 1971 in the city of Upland, CA to Donna Renee Love. He grew up in the city of Chino Hills, raised by his loving grandparents, Jimmy and Lorraine Love. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in Chino Hills. Jamel eventually went on to college, beginning at San Bernardino Valley College and then on to California State University San Bernardino where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Communication with plans to pursue being a DJ, initially. He started his professional path at Roadway in Ontario, where he spent several years supervising crews. Ultimately, Jamel realized his dream of becoming self-employed and opened his own insurance agency through Farmers Insurance, Love Insurance Agency. During this time of establishing himself in the insurance industry, he also established himself as the devoted husband to Heather, whom he married October 18, 2008. Jamel was raised to love the Lord and grew up actively participating in the church from a young age. As a child he attended True Church of God In Christ in Ontario, which was later renamed Love Sanctuary. In 2014, he found roots and faithfully served at Crossroads Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga. Shortly after, he was led to Purpose Church in Pomona. And as was his nature, he was a devoted and highly active member of Purpose Church, supporting the parking lot duty committee, attending Sunday school, bible study groups and church service. In his “free” time, when not working or helping others, he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, Heather & his loyal cat, Houdini, spending time with his family, going to jazz concerts and enjoying other simple activities such as hiking, bike riding and reading. Jamel was preceded in death by his mother Donna; his sister LaShae; his grandfather Jimmy Don; his aunt Leatrice; and his uncle Daryl. Jamel is survived by his wife Heather; his grandmother Lorraine; his brothers Gorman and Odyssei; his uncle “Teach” (Jimmy); his aunts Diane, Sandra and Lisa; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
