

Ira Leona Golliher was born March 17, 1921 in Magargel, Texas. When Leona was 2 years old her family moved to Upland, California. Leona graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California in 1940. She married Clyde Golliher on July 14, 1940.
Leona dedicated her life to her husband and three daughters. In 1952, Clyde and Leona were appointed missionaries for the Nazarene Church and moved to Peru with their two young daughters, Jean and Claudia. Their third daughter Billie was born in Lima a few years after they arrived.
For the next 30 years Leona faithfully supported Clyde and served God by preparing thousands of meals for traveling missionaries and spending countless hours home schooling their children. Leona and Clyde returned to the United States in 1982 and retired from missionary work in 1983. Leona spent her last few years enjoying quilting and a previously hidden love of watching football.
Leona is survived by her daughters Jean Gwynne, Claudia Mathews, Billie (Dan)Gipe; and two grandchildren, Randi (Ben)Talmage and David Gipe.
