I remember your mom and I took classes in cake decorating. She was such fun and we all enjoyed learning together. Everytime we saw each other we would talk about our class. Wonderful lady glad I got to know her not as a mom but as her own woman.

Dios la tenga en el cielo 🙏  ya está con su hija que tanto la cuido. Me dio mucho gusto conocerla y hacerle su cabello por unos  años y cuando terminaba y se miraba en el espejo decía, quien es ella? Y cuando nos despediamos yo le decía  la veo el próximo mes y usted me decía pues a ver si regreso !!! Y un día  ya no regresó me dio mucha tristeza 😢 no volverla a ver.

It’s with great sadness that we share our condolences to the Banales family, especially Steven. We have been friends for over 40 years and  we know how much Steven loved his mother. When going to the fair, we would always see family, at the track, the flower and garden area, and the Mexican Village. We would always run into Tia's Lydia and Pina. We would sit, and talk while waiting for the shows. It was always comforting to see them because they were full of sass, jokes and laughter. My sympathy to you all. ♥️

Dearest Mrs. Banales....

I know there is some comfort in knowing that the person I knew well and loved, your daughter Dolores, is now in your company once again.  We shared stories about our moms and I know you were loved and cared for on the very best level possible.  I remember attending a Thanksgiving dinner at your home back in the 80’s and it was my very FIRST time having tamales on Thanksgiving!  😊 (Now.....when I have Mexican food here in Michigan, it is ALWAYS tamales!!)  I remember Stevie going out the door for meeting friends or something and it wasn’t a big hit with his momma.   To all of the family and those close, I send my prayers and love.  Rest in peace dear Lydia.  You’re very loved.  Say hi to Dolores for me and you can each give each other big hugs once again.  🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼💕💕💕💕

Mrs. Bañales, one of the “Mama’s” of the block! Stevie was always at our house playing with my brother Gilbert & we’d get a call from Mrs Bañales checking on him. Then she & my mom would be on the phone chatting for a long while. Good times! RIP now with Mr. Bañales & Dolly & keep an eye on all of us! My love and prayers to all the family.

Mrs. Banales was a beautiful Lady,very classy always had a smile on her face, never looked her age and always look good, she always asked how we were may she be RIP with all of heavens Angel's. 


Your beauty, your style, your stories, your humor  and let’s not forget your cakes will be missed by all.  You lived an eventful and long life that many could only hope for. We love you Grandma Lydia & will miss you tremendously.
