

Pola was born on October 31, 1940 in San Bernardino, California to parents Irene and Arnold. After completing high school, she attended the University of San Diego before moving to Los Angeles to work as a legal secretary. This is where she met her husband Farnum L. Bouton (deceased). Pola and Farnum shared two children Kara and Farnum Matthew Bouton.
While her children were still young, Pola returned to school taking night classes at Cal State Fullerton to complete her bachelor's degree. In the early 1980's, she started working for the County of San Bernardino and worked as social worker in Adult Protective Services and Child Protective Services. During this time, she completed a Master's of Social Work (MSW) at Cal State San Bernardino. Pola retired from the County after over 25 years of service.
After retiring, Pola took on a part-time role with the County of Los Angeles working to help foster children connect with family as they were aging out of system. She also volunteered with the Ontario USO.
Pola died on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after 85 years of life.
She is survived by her daughter, Kara Bouton, her son Farnum Bouton (April), grandsons Julian Bouton, Curtis Bouton, and Derek Bouton, and great-granddaughter Iris Bouton.
The third oldest of 15 children, Pola is also survived by 11 siblings.
Pola's family and friends are invited to her committal service, where she will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Park (1204 W G St., Ontario, CA 91762) on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 2:30pm.
